Here is the second bunch of the pictures taken on our trip to Twelvemile Summit & Eagle Summit.
These are all taken at the Twelvemile Summit area after going to the Eagle Summit area.
We walked on the trail to Pinnell Mountain just for one or two miles.
We enjoyed seeing lots of wild flowers and nice views of the mountains and watching a ptarmigan eating some wild flowers.
Eagle SummitからTwelvemile Summitに引き返して、今度はPinnell Mountainへと続くトレイルをちょっとだけ歩きました。
稜線上では、ヨコヤマリンドウの蕾が色づき始めていました。

We found only a couple of them just starting to bloom.
日本には自生しないサクラソウの仲間。
英名のShootingstarは「流れ星」の意味。

Until we got to the ridge, we walked on the boardwalk through the wetland/tundra.

トレイルがしっかり整備されています。
尾根にいくまでは湿地帯とツンドラが混じった中、
木道の上をすすみます。

They were growing between the rocks at the trail on the ridge.
ヨコヤマリンドウも、稜線上にたくさん蕾をつけていました。
大雪山の花の本で見て想像していたよりもずっと小さな植物でした。
数週間後、また確認に来たいと思います。

The sun was still up.
Twelvemile Summit近くの駐車スペースに車を止めて、車中泊したのですが、
夜10時近いですがまだまだ明るいです。
